Reflecting on my life and my priorities the other day, I had the thought, "If Jesus were alive today, we'd totally hang out." Although I no longer subscribe to any particular organized religion, I am more closely connected to my Source (God) than I ever was under any church roof.
There would have been a time I would have thought I was being blasphemous to even think to say something like that, much less think I could sit in the presence of Jesus without feeling somehow inferior to do so.
Yet, the more I connect with Source and commune every day, all day within that loving presence and influence, I keep getting glimpses of what it would be like to encounter the man we've heard about, known as Jesus. Called the son of God, man among the people - what I know he was truly here being on earth was a vibrational countenance of pure love, unwavering universal truth and wisdom, and a presence that attracted people because of his unique way of simply 'being'.
When he met people, he saw them for the souls they were in human bodies - perfectly designed and made by the Creator - without flaw. When he encountered illness, he never saw illness - only divine wholeness and well-being. He had such a connection to all that is and was that he didn't "buy the human conditions" and he kept inviting people to and pointing them back to what was real and true.
His mere presence healed, transmuted and transformed because he maintained such a powerful, pure connection and belief in who he was and where he was from. He was connected at all times with God. His vibration was such that it created an undeniable attraction to those that wanted to know more, learn more and feel better. Source energy flowing freely and wholly through an individual feels amazing to the individual and all that encounter them. We are all made this way. And all capable of being this way. But not many here are not consciously knowing, living, and thriving this way, yet.
But I am.
As someone who is committed to and passionate about people being the fullness of themselves and living up to their pure potential as universal beings here in human form, I understand more and more what Jesus must have encountered all those years ago. How much resistance he faced from skeptics and doubters who simply didn't understand and weren't willing to listen or transform beliefs.
But he stayed true to himself and to God. When you are who you are, and you know what you believe in, you take a stance and live your life in such a way that no matter what anyone else thinks or believes, you stay true to yourself. And when you do, life expands exponentially in proportion to support you.
The amount of struggle and hardship our collective society is in the midst of really does point out just how much misunderstanding is in people's belief systems and lack of spiritual/universal wisdom. When people don't truly know who they are, how they came to be here, how they fit into the greater universal ecosystem, or what they came to be and do, it leaves a population of people following in others footsteps and buying beliefs that are outdated, inaccurate and downright false; so the paradigms based on fallacies continue to be perpetuated.
Until people like me and maybe you, start to break out of the mainstream and forge paths of inquiry and exploration that actually feel more true to us, life often feels exhausting, tiresome, stressful and downright frustrating. When we choose to align ourselves to more freedom and more expansive concepts, ideas and ways of living and expressing, life takes on this miraculous quality seeded with grace, peace and pure joy.
Leading us to spiritually-accurate truth as it is meant to be fully known by Source, beyond the limited and traditional beliefs peddled to us by our parents and their predecessors, is a powerful charge.
Outdated belief systems and entrenchment in standardized norms keeps masses "asleep at the wheel" and blind to their own manipulation; unable to see just how profoundly they are being capitalized off of and controlled.
I'm not a doomsday-er, but I am a pragmatist, an explorer, a provocateur and a challenger. I challenge status quo thoughts and beliefs because now knowing what's been peddled through the ages has allowed me to determine and discern what is in fact true for me and what is not.
I no longer allow myself to be spoon-fed information that does not serve my greatest and highest good. I am one of those that chooses to forge a path in a different direction that requires immense courage, even when my knees are knocking. And so far, with every belief I've challenged, I've been shown more and more universal wisdom, truth, understanding, freedom and overall inner peace. As someone who was overwhelmed and completely consumed with observing and fitting into the outer world and my surroundings, I now see it for what it truly is, and I don't buy or believe anything that does not feel like a fit for me. All inner turmoil and tug-of-war is gone.
And one of my greatest acknowledgments to date has been that simply being me - the fullness and richness of me in a human body - I help people feel better. My touch through my hands-on body work helps people "heal" - return to themselves - fully. My presence helps liberate others. I didn't always understand how and like so many others, I operated from the thought, "Who the hell do I think I am to even consider I could be that?" Yet as Marianne Williamson reminds us in her quote from A Return to Love:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
So as I return to the truth for myself every single moment, I trust in the undeniable knowing that I came here at this time and space to experience what I did; to contribute what I am and that when it's time for me to leave this planet, I will be able to say, "Well done, Rhonda - you gave it everything you had and left it all on the field of life!"
This journey of conscious evolution, expansion, living a life of love out loud isn't always easy or comfortable, but it's so very worth it. Allowing myself to have more ease, joy, playfulness, delight and grace with it adds to the magic and the beauty of it. And knowing I'm supported and encouraged, led, guide and directed by the entirety of the universe is the gift that allows me to doubt less and less everyday- and to never give up on my dreams.
Beloved friend: What's your charge? What's beckoning you to allow it to express through you in this lifetime? Are you allowing yourself to go there? To see it through? If not, I'd ask you why not. And what are you wiling to be and do to live a life of freedom, peace, joy, love, and whatever else you identify that is important to you?
There's no right or wrong answer or direction. There's no good or bad choice. But I can assure you that when you find your soul identity and you identify with why you came here, you can radically shift the way you function, the way you think, speak, act and the way that life and others respond to you. And that too is a choice.
As for me, I look forward to powerfully, lovingly and gracefully meeting Jesus someday and hanging out. Talking about the things we both love, being the pure joy we both are and curiously wondering about things that delight us. I'll save a seat for you, beauty.
